If you're looking for things to do in Puerto Montt for free. Look no further than the vibrant and bustling Angelmo Market. Located next to the port and just a short walk to the left, this market is a must-see for travelers looking to experience the authentic culture of the city.
At Angelmo Market, you'll find an array of colorful and unique handcrafted items that make for perfect souvenirs or gifts. From intricate woven textiles to intricately carved wooden figures, there's something here for everyone. And if you're a foodie, you're in for a treat! The market is known for its fresh seafood, which you can find at the lively fish market section.
One of the best things about Angelmo Market is that it's completely free to visit. Whether you're on a tight budget or just looking for a fun and unique experience, this market is a great option. Wander around the stalls, chat with the friendly vendors, and soak up the sights and sounds of this lively marketplace.
If you're feeling hungry, be sure to stop at one of the many food stalls in the market. You can grab a delicious empanada or a bowl of hearty seafood soup for just a few dollars. And if you're feeling adventurous, try the local specialty known as curanto, a traditional dish made with seafood, meat, and vegetables cooked in an underground pit.
Overall, a visit to Angelmo Market is a must-do for anyone traveling to Puerto Montt. With its colorful stalls, authentic atmosphere, and delicious food, it's a true highlight of the city. So don't miss out on this free and fun experience!
Alex's Tip : Most of the food stalls accept credit cards, some of them accept dollars but these must be "crispy". Take care of your belongings, because it is a very popular place. Also take a good look at the price list before consuming something. My favorite place to eat is called "El Rocco" and it is in the stall Number 44-45 ( second floor)
